Departmental/Company Mergers

WorkPlace can provide a Project Manager to manage the physical integration and the resolution of issues arising from a company takeover, a company merger or a merger of two or more departments.

An independent project manager will be viewed more tolerantly in these situations so there is more chance of effective collaboration and team working to the satisfaction of both sides.

The WorkPlace Project Manager would work closely with your HR team and your senior managers to plan and implement what needs to be done to facilitate the integration.

WorkPlace Project Managers are always involved in managing change and managing the effects of that change. They recognise that people find change alarming and unsettling. Experience has taught us that this is addressed to some extent by good communication, consultation, collaboration and project management without vested interests.

Our role can include many things but most typically includes:

  • Developing and managing an action plan in consultation with all interested parties
  • Physical moves for teams or individuals either within their existing building or to another building
  • Building closure for vacated premises
  • Consultation and development of consensus
  • Development of communications strategy
  • Co-ordination of new printed stationery
  • Staff briefings and surgeries
  • Liaison with IT for merging of systems
  • Planning and co-ordination of the merging of processes
  • Review of company policies and drafting amendments
  • Listening and providing an independent view
