Workstation Assessments
WorkPlace have a long history of conducting individual workstation assessments in line with Display Screen Equipment (DSE) requirements under current legislation. Our clients for workstation assessments include Legal Services Commission, the Football Association, the Chrysalis Group, Thames & Hudson, Samsonite and National Centre for Social Research.
We can also provide training for your in-house team to carry out workstation assessments with support from us as required.
Our workstation assessments are a one to one session with each member of staff to assess their working environment; reviewing and discussing the following:
- The person's job; including the proportion of their time spent sitting at the desk and the proportion of their time spent using the screen
- Past or present work-related health problems
- Ratio of desk top equipment to workstation size
- Whether the chair is adjusted correctly and whether the person knows how to adjust the chair
- Whether a footrest is needed
- Seated posture
- Ergonomic design of chair and desk
- Screen height, angle, adjustability, clarity of text, contrast and amount of glare
- Layout of computer equipment
- Adequate space for forearm support in front of keyboard
- Adequate leg room under desk
- Lighting
- Co-worker infringement
- Eyesight
- Recommended breaks
We provide a detailed individual report for each assessment with a list of recommended actions. We also produce an overview report summarising the issues specific to the building or arising from a sizeable number of assessments.
We charge you a fee per workstation assessment, this fee is based partly on the number of assessments you require and partly on geographic location. We can conduct workstation assessments anywhere in the UK.
